At the preliminary eye examination, all of the necessary measurements will be taken and examination of your eyes will be done to determine your candidacy for surgery. The preliminary exam takes approximately 3-4 hours, and includes dilation of the eyes.
The following is a list of what you can expect on the day of the preliminary examination:
• Photo ID taken for Patient Data System
• Multimedia presentation (50 minute video with all you need to know about TRSC, LASIK surgery, and review of the consent form)
• Measurements:
• Refraction (measurement of your prescription)
• Intraocular pressure
• Corneal thickness
• Corneal topography (Orbscan IIz)
• Wavefront analyzer (WASCA)
• Dilation
• Examination by your surgeon followed by consultation
